    Web Reporter index rebuild

    karthago

      Hi,

is it safe to disable the monthly Web Reporter index rebuild? We are using a SQL server 2012 database which has approx. 2TB of data. Index rebuild can cause the transaction log to grow the same size of the DB and needs a lot of time (8-10 hours).

We also have our own maintenance job which triggers a rebuild only if an index is > 20% fragmented.

          Hello,

Yes, it is safe to disable, but not recommended.  The problem with running your own index rebuild external of web reporter is that Web Reporter doesn't know about it.  So if you are parsing logs or running reports, that can also conflict with your index rebuild.
