Is there a way to install DLP on a standalone without having it communicate with the ePO? I have two goals with this:
1. Restrict installation of USB devices to only the ones that have been explicitly approved on a standalone workstation (off the wire completely).
2. Have a test workstation off the wire where I can install DLP, plug in several devices and gather the detected info so i can enter this in my DLP policies for proper blocking/approving of devices.
If the standalone install is not possible, what is the best way to gather information about specific devices plugged into computer without having to test on a production environment?
Setup a test environment.
Obviously i would have done that if I had the hardware available. Do you know if DLP can be installed on a standalone without it being managed by the ePO?
I believe it's going to have to be connected to EPO to get its policy etc.
After that you can disconnect it of course.
I'm not understanding why you need this machine to be disconnected though?
There are strong restrictions on devices that are allowed to be connected or brought into to our environment. But thank you for your assistance.
