It's possible that a restart of agent and McShield services or a reboot of the machine followed by a DAT update will fix this, but I'm not sure.
A forced uninstall and reinstall of VirusScan 8.8 fixes it for me here.
This bug should be fixed in Virusscan 8.8 Patch 4, due out in February.
You don't say how long this problem has been happening. If it's an old one, then check out https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB76004
Current Agent version is 4.8P2, and Virusscan is up to 8.8 Patch 2 or 3 (Windows 8/2012).
It may help to get your real estate more up to date than it currently is.
I restarted Framework services, Now DAT version (7303) showing in ePO console But Engine version is showing as 0.0000;
Can any one share the solution for this...
Is Engine 5600 checked in to your ePO server?
Engine 5400 is now no longer supported: https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB66741
How to check Engine version checked in ePO server?
Hi Vic, by default ePO should have pulled the new engine when it was made public by McAfee. Which one do you have under your master repository?
I have 5600.1067
Does this happen with different computers or just only one? If it's only one then try to execute an xDat so the DAT files get updated and then try to send an update task for the engine
Hi. as the informationin ePO 'travels through' MA - I woudl check what the actual point product 1st and work my way back.. here, for VSE, I'd check the DAT & Engine in the registry of one of the endpoints of interest.
-HKLM\SW\McAfee\Desktop Protection & -HKLM\SW\McAfee\systemCore\VSCore\OAS\McShield\Config
Some words abbreviated- sorry.
Provided the above appropriate entires match - I'd move onto MA.. checking the respective Props XMLs
hope it helps.
It's happening in only one system. How to send update Task for Engine. I have Engine 5600.1067.
