I am running my private pc with win 7 and mcafee virusscan enterprise 8.8.
I am new to this program and did not find a solution to my problem, so I hope you guys can help me:
Since I installed McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.8 I can`t run programs like Chrome or Diablo III. Chrome says it does not have any connection to the network and Diablo says the anti virus software is blocking it. As soon as I switch off the access protection in the virusscan console everything works fine again. But I dont want to switch it off. I dont know how to do those rules that those programs still run as usual. Can anybody help me with that?
Access protection rule is blocking your program.
Please share the acess protection rule log by right clicking to access protection rule in McAfee virus scan console.
identify in log file that which rule is blocking. check option will be there in access protection rule remove that .surely you will be able to access.
I installed McAfee VirusScan Enterprise and i have email problems. I cant send the email.
Can you help me?
Also i think VirusScan block ports: 7046 and 7047. how can i enable it?
Got it your problem.
1>Go to below screen shot and remove the check mark.
I'll try it.
there is no acess protection rule log in my virus scan console. there is just a "acess protection log" I can create. It says that those applications are blocked due to a acess protection rule. Is there another way to create the rule log?
Edit: If I go to the acess protection rule menu and switch of "prevent HTTP communication" under "Common maximum protection" chrome seems to work. but other applications dont...

As you go through the process of reviewing the Access Protection log and making configuration changes to Access Protection settings, just be mindful of what it is you're doing .
It's better to add an exclusion than to disable a rule entirely.
But depending on the offending process, an exclusion may not be desirable either.
And, what can complicate things for forum users is if they're ePO managed and don't know it - they might be admins and able to make changes but policy enforcement will simply reset them, causing confusion for the already unfamiliar User.
