How many TCP/IP socket connections can Receiver handle?

      Hi,

Does anyone know how many TCP/IP socket connections can Receiver handle?

Today, I send to the Receiver 6,000 syslogs per second.

Then, there are following error messages,

      /var/log/messages

      Nov 27 04:44:45 L_ERROR  02998|pthread_createfailure, returned: [11][Resource temporarily unavailable] error: [12][Cannotallocate memory] at [tcp.c:944 (tcp_server)]

      Nov 27 04:44:45 L_ERROR  02998|[end=0] thread tcpserver

      Nov 27 04:44:45 L_INFO   02999|[end=1]thread udp server

      /var/log/syslogcollector.log.xx

Nov 27 04:44:44 McAfee kernel: [ 2301.814617]nf_conntrack: table full, dropping packet.

I was thinking Receiver could handle over 20,000 Connections per second, Receiver4600.

Is there any limits of TCP/IP socket connections?

      thanks,
