Best to ask Tech Support. I will also ping a tech to read this. I have not got ie11 yet is it still a preview version or fully released.
I have SA 126.96.36.1999 working just fine in IE11, Chrome 30 and Firefox 25 in my 8.1, but I'm using the beta MTP software so best to contact Technical Support. It's free and linked under Usefui Links at the top of the page.
One thing you could try....go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and click McAfee for removal but then it should ask you what components you wish to remove. Select ONLY SiteAdvisor and continue.
Then got to http://www.siteadvisor.com and reinstall it from there directly. (Change language at top right if desired). That way you should get the very latest version.
A reboot may be necessary to get everything working.
Downloading SA 188.8.131.529 (latest version) did the job without the need removing previous version.
Nevertheless I would have expected it to be updated automatically as my MCA Automatic Updates = ON.
Do I miss something?
I'm not familiar with "MCA" but assume that's a 3rd party supplier of the software. As such they control what upgrades are passed on and when, and sometimes that means delays for their customers in getting the latest versions.
Glad you are OK now.
BTW there are still issues with IE11 Metro/Modern edition. The desktop version is what I'm talking about.
Here's what I've just been told:
For the Metro/Modern interface for IE 10 and IE 11, there are 2 problems
- 1) The SA toolbar doesn’t load. This is Microsoft’s doing – they’ve blocked all add-ons, and this is very unlikely to change.
- 2) SA annotations do NOT work. Again, this is because of a change to these newer browsers. SA Dev is actively investigating a way to get around the restriction, and *hope* to have this workaround available sometime in the new year.
The current workarounds include:
- 1) Browsing using IE 10 or IE 11 Desktop versions
- 2) Browse using a different browser, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Apple Safari.
