What is the command you are using? When I was doing something similar, when I tried to pull a machinekey for a system that did not exist i got error code -9
As mentioned used commands eeadmin.exportMachineKey machineName or eeadmin.exportMachineKey machineId.
In my case machine name was deleted and recreated by AD sync process. Old encryption key I would like to recover is not linked with new client object.
You can pull machinekey if you will know keycheck value, even if machine name is deleted.
Are you able to get the MachineID of the original system object (ie. [EPOCComputerProperties].[ParentID] or [EPOLeafNode].[AutoID]) The ID should be unique and thus may stay around after a sync. I'm not able to test as we don't use AD Sync to purge the systems from the System Tree.
What do you get when you run:
This will find the EPOLeafNode.AutoID of any systemn with the MACAddress of the system in question.
( Note: Replace [[Server]] with your ePO server & [[MACADDRESS]] wiht the MACAddress of the system )
Once you have the ID, you can then use:
Happy New Year.
I got error 0 for machine name, no AutoID. Then i got error 12.
For me machine cannot be identify in ePO database.
