Was hoping to get some insight as to why this is happening as I've searched high and low to find some relevant answer as to why this happens. So after uninstalling a previous version of VSE from 2 machines successfully (I assume) we then reboot and try to reinstall VSE 8.8 onto it via the SetupVSE.exe. However I run into this VirusScan Setup pop up window that states "An error occurred during uninstallation. Please be sure that all applications are closed. Setup cannot continue." after going through the registy to find something related, i've come up with nothing or haven't been looking in the right spots maybe? This has happened exactly the same on 2 different machines. Anyone have any ideas...provided is a screenshot of the error message.
Have you uninstalled the McAfee agent as well as VSE?
Are you running the installer with enough elevated privileges so that it can install over any other software on the system?
I would suggest manually checking the registries to see if you still have remnants of the previous uninstallations. This is ussually the case with VSE. Alternatively, you could ask the Gold Support guys to send you their VSE cleanup tool then try to reinstall again using a local admin account ( a domain admin should work as well).
