I've alerted support staff to post here.
I have no idea, someone will post soon.
Thank you! I hope you are right!
After reading solution TS101466 better I saw that the + that I couldn't find belongs to solution 1 which describes the installation. Solution 2 is for the uninstallingproces. But it is no more than a description for how to uninstall a standard program:
The Anti-Theft uninstall application verifies whether a device is enrolled or not. If the device is enrolled, Anti-Theft prompts you for your McAfee account credentials before it allows you to uninstall the product.
- Click Start and select Control Panel.
- Open Programs and Features.
- Double-click McAfee Anti-Theft.
- Type the Anti-Theft online user account you previously used to download and enroll the application, when prompted.
- Decrypt any data files that were encrypted and uninstall the Anti-Theft service.
Because the Anti-Theft application files are required to decrypt your data, you are prompted to restart your computer after the decryption finishes. The Anti-Theft application is not fully removed until after the restart.
This uninstall-procedure is not working. That is probably why all those people come to this community with the same question how to remove anti-theft.
I apologise that nobody has helped - I have sent a reminder. Meanwhile Anti-Theft Support is available free by phone and linked in the annoucement at the head of this section.
I see that you have tried following the uninstall process as outline in the FAQ and it is failing. Anti-Theft can only be uninstalled through program and features. If we run into an issue we must resolve it before we can continue.
There are a few possible reasons why Anti-Theft fails to uninstall. The MEI drivers may have an issues, older versions of the client, or possibly an account issue.
You can check for issues with the MEI drivers / iCLS stack. We have a few FAQs that may be of help. The other two issue will require assistance from technical support.
The URL's to the FAQ's below point to the English versions of the articles. You might find a translated version if you visit service.mcafee.com and enter the TS numbers, TS101422 and TS101421. These drivers can be found on your OEM's support page (Preferred) or Intel's (R) support site.
