I have a exchange 2007 veritas VCS cluster. Exchange 2007 is deployed with the virtual server name.
I deployed Mcafee security for exchange 7.6 in all cluster nodes. It failed to filter the emails with the policies. From my observation, MSME cannot list the mailbox under the exchange virtual server. It only listed local host name instead.
So I want to confirm if Security for Exchange 7.6/8.0 support Exchange 2007 Veritas Cluster with virual exchange server name. Could someone please give this answer to me? Thanks a lot for the kindly help.
veritas clustering is not supported by msme. However, msme can still be installed onto an exchange server in a veritas cluster but it will not be "cluster aware" which means it will act as a standalone server for each node.
to see specifically why it isn't pulling the mailbox names can you enable debugging and then go to the od scan page, select to modify the current scan and click on the expand selected folders and try to expand the servername. then turn off logging and post the logs to the thread, if you don't mind.
Thanks a lot for reply.
I have tried as your suggestion, but the Exchange Virtual server name was not list under the All folders when modify the current scan. The details list below:
After installed McAfee standalone on all my Exchange cluster node, and enabled debugging. Then go to the old scan page, the Exchange Virtual server name"YLEVS" was not list under the All folders when modify the current scan, it only list the localhost name"pawxrt-24". Please refer to the screenshot:
Do we have the solution for it? The workaround to work with the virtual server name.
could you post the logs to the thread?
what is the specific version of msme that you have installed?
We installed MSME 7.6.
what hot fixes / patches do you have installed? in the gui click on the product information tab and let me know what the product version and hot fixes fields show.
