Moved to ePO for better support.
What SP of Win 2003 are you using?
As per KB#: KB51573, SP2 is supported.
Are you using FramePkg_UPD.exe to attempt an upgrade?
Have you tried exporting the framepkg.exe from EPO and doing a framepkg.exe /forceinstall /install=agent instead?
Thanks for your reply. Here following the system information.
O.S. Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
Version 5.2.3790 Build 3790
System VMware Virtual Platform
Type PC based on X86
There's no explicit info about Service Pack.
Also, the Microsoft Spcheck tool says:
SPCHECK Report File
System Date: Mon Sep 02 13:14:33 2013
The last Windows service pack to be installed on this system was:
Version 5.2 (Build 3790)
I think there's no service pack on my customer's machine.
It needs SP2 to be supported.
See this for help: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc755981%28v=ws.10%29.aspx
I'm sure Tony will concur.
I'll speak with the customer, to understand if there is some reason for not having SP2 installed.
If the customer agrees, I will apply the SP2 and then I will retry to install the agent.
About the Tony's question.
<< Are you using FramePkg_UPD.exe to attempt an upgrade? >>
No, I was trying a fresh installation.
<< Have you tried exporting the framepkg.exe from EPO and doing a framepkg.exe /forceinstall /install=agent instead? >>
Also using "forceinstall..." option I get always the same error.
Thank you again for your reply.
Good luck ;-)
I have some 2003 Sp1 servers on 2292 but they had a previous version and upgraded I must admit I havn't ever tried a fresh install of 2292 on this a config. If at all possible I would try and get an upgrade to SP2.
BTW here's the Italian version of that Technet article on deploying SP2 on Server 2003: http://technet.microsoft.com/it-it/library/cc755981%28v=ws.10%29.aspx
It has download links or you can order it on CD.
