no, there is no other way than to use the McAfee Agent like you are doing.
How many users are you trying to add? If there are many, it can take some time until they are all downloaded.
Normally it is only one user there needs to be added to the laptop.
What need is, is a "button" that will force the user sync
(will help out our support a lot)
What am I missing? The MA has a "collect and send props" button?
As said in the first post, when using this it takes a long time before the user are sync to the laptop.
Any updates to this?
Just had a issue where our CFO could not logon and support had problem getting the user sync in to work.
What I can see in the log(MfeEpe.log) it toke more than 2 hours before the user was sync to the laptop.
We have noticed that it can take a while for a user to download to a machine, but normally it takes no more than a few minutes. Longest I have ever had was maybe 20 or 30 minutes. We normally press Collect and Send Props, wait 30 secs to a minute (for it to create an event to get users), then click Send Events. This usually forces the users on to the machine fairly quickly. Today, it took maybe 20 minutes for a user to get downloaded to a machine, but I believe that was because this user was across the country and had to cross our WAN.
We are currently using EEPC 6.2 (no patch 1), but we are evaluating EEPC 7.0.2 and hope to go to that version soon. Once of the features I hope to implement are the remediation features that are now available at pre-boot, but first we will have to configure Intel AMT/vPro, which we have not done before. I believe this will help us out a lot with regarding to removing/adding users and resetting tokens.
This is a real problem in our law firm. Lawyers request loaner laptops when traveling and need to be added ... this process can take minutes ... sometimes even 20+. I am not sure what the delay factor is.
Can anyone advise?
What we do to speed up the user assignments from the client: Send Events, wait 30 sesonds, Send and collect props, wait 30 seconds and repeat those steps. It's not always perfect but it usually helps. Anything with user assignemnts we use Send Events.
I was advised by McAfee support to perform Collect and Send Props ... then Send Events ... then Check New Policies ... and lastly Enforce Policies
They did not advise to wait, but through my own troubleshooting it seems waiting for Collect and Send to finish user data sync works best.
I have to put a dog and pony on best practices for our entire Europe region.
I think they are hitting the four buttons and expecting the user to be added.
