    Mcshield consumes more memory.

I am haing McaFee Total Protuction 2012.  Mcshield consumes more memory. even in a fresh install.

Due to which my machine is hanging.

can some one help me out of this.

      Thanks,

      Sathya.

What memory i notice 12.8 uses seems to be higher than 11.6. Mine idle at this moment uses 370mb far greater than security centre 11.6. Thoufgh after a scan it dropped to 119mb

          Specs recommended for total protection

          • Windows XP SP3 or higher (32-bit)
          • Windows Vista SP1 (32- and 64-bit)
          • Windows 7 (32- and 64-bit)
          • Windows 8 (32- and 64-bit)
          • 512 MB RAM for XP
          • 2 GB RAM for Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8
          • 500 MB free drive space
          • 1 GHz processor

I personally feel 512mb ram for xp next to useless as I have tried it and upgraded my daughters laptop to 2gb when she had an issue. What are teh specs and also i will ask in our call tomorrow why the high increase. it is I feell as on access scanner is controller several programs not just mcshield.

This problem comes when our On-Access Scanner scan any file or detectingvirus for fixing this problem first check the which .exe it detecting as virus andthen got to On-Access Scanner properties and go to   Exclusions fromthere Exclude file or .exe which is making mcshiled problem ..after this it iwill not consume more memory ...

Your other threads today have indicated you are using a Business product.  This thread is about the consumer software, so please  clarify what you are using.
