My update failed Update failed to version Engine: 5600.1067 DAT: 7148.0000 message is showing
First is this Home version security centre 11.6 or Mcafee enterprise as latest version 12.1 does not use Dats or that engine version?
Searching the forums for that message implies this is a Enterprise issue and a manual update of the dat might assist. I will move this thread to the correct forum if this is so

We are also experiencing a lot of our users having the same problem. We are running McAfee 8.8 Ent. w/patch 3. A manualy update seems to work for a awhile but the problem persist. ePO seems to be updating correctly that I can tell. Wonder if it coincides with the super DAT EOL. ?

As the O.P. didn't respond I've moved this entire thread to Business > VirusScan Enterprise as this mode of updating does not apply to the home products where it was originally posted.
Hopefully someone will help soon.

I've seen this too, on a very small number of PCs (less than 0.1% of our estate), and haven't got to the bottom of it.
In some cases, uninstall then reinstall of Virusscan 8.8 fixes the issue.
In others, it seems to be underlying Operating System problems.

Same problem, but, removing VirusScan and reinstalling now works.
