They will disappear on there own after 60 days or so but you could try calling Customer Service and ask if they can sort it out. Link is under Useful Links at the top of this page.
To ensure proper decrementation of the account always uninstall the software via Control Panel in the normal way if at all possible. I know sometimes that isn't possible if a machine crashes, for instance.

thank you for the helpful answer. In most cases there was a hardware failure which made me change the part or dispose off the pc that in turn made me install a fresh OS.
Iam not sure but i think mcafee identifies the pc through the pc name so same pc with different motherboard is identified as 2 different pc.

Yes, that would be the case I would imagine - it would see the machine as a different one. Customer Service can sort that out for you. Good luck ;-)
