I have just added 2 new agent handlers to our ePO solution and i am trying to push new agent via client task to update and refresh the new sitelist to include the new agent handlers.
I have created a new 'Product Deployment' to deploy the agent and i have added command line switch to the task framepkg.exe /install=agent /forceinstall.
When i push this out it does not update the sitelist with the 2 new handlers
I have checked site siltelist xml under C:\Program Files (x86)\McAfee\ePolicy Orchestrator\DB\SiteList.xml and all entries are visable.
I have created a new framepkg.exe via epo server and manually installed on a server using framepkg.exe /install=agent /forceinstall and it updates fine.
Have i missed anything off or do i have an issue.
Any help is appreciated
A deployment task would not be used for new agent installs but you might try pushing the agent out this way:
Go to System Tree view.
Under System Tree Actions - Select 'New Systems'
Under How to add systems, either of the 'Push' radio boxes have a selection at the bottom of the screen called 'Push Agent Using:' where you can select an agent handler.
Hopefully that would take care of it.
Agent deployment tasks are really for agent upgrades. there's some notes on this in the on-line help for the agent if you need.
Thanks for your reply. Sorry, i didnt make it clear before . I am not trying to push new agents out. I am trying to update existing agents to pick up new agent handler information
In that case a deployment task is probably not required if you only need to refresh the sitelist.
Agents will pick up a new sitelist automatically when they call into ePO, providing ePO says there is a newer one available.
Take a look at Configuration - Agent Handlers.
You might just need to make a new handler assignment rule for the machines you want to have use a given Agent Handler.
Thanks alot thats done it.
