    www.time.gov java issue through MWG7

    jspanitz

      Using this link, the java hangs going through MWG 7.3

      Is there a quick easy fix or is this a ticket issue?

          I don't think it's a MWG issue. I can't get it to run even without MWG inline.

          java breaks with a message in the console:

          minutesOffset = -240

          host=WWW.TIME.GOV

          measuring...

          nTries=0, nGood=0

          Exception in thread "Thread-23" java.security.AccessControlException: access denied ("java.net.SocketPermission" "132.163.4.22:8013" "connect,resolve")

          at java.security.AccessController.checkPermission(Unknown Source)

          Java isn't able to send out a connection on the network.

          This is probably a java sandbox problem brought on by the newest java 7 update 25 that came in last week.

          Either way, it doesn't work for me in FF or IE10 direct to internet.

          ...and it appears to be connecting to port 8013 when it is successful. so if you are blocking that at the firewall, it may also have some bearing.
