The advice I give to my customers boils down to the fact that why many will happily operate on the "If it isn't broken don't try to fix it" mentailty, as soon as you do encounter a genuine issue and need to raise a ticket with the vendor you will be at an advantage if you are running the current release as you won't have to waste time upgrading first.

8.3.1 and the associated P01 also addresses several CVEs.
With the RollBack feature if you do encounter any pain with the upgrade you can revert back in short order.
