Hopefully someone with Family Protection experience will come along soon, but in the meanwhile I suggest you try runnning the Virtual Technician http://mvt.mcafee.com/ to see if it can fix anything.
Other suggestions are, did you uninstall any other brand of similar product before installing this one?
