Blocking external hard drives and flash drives

My boss wants me to block all external  hard drives and flash drives except for  certain vendors that we use. I can create a device rule to approve the ones we want but what about all the others that need to be block there must be hundreds.

If you are using McAfee DLP, you can try below

Create a removable storage device rule and assign it to blocked USB devices.

Then create a device definition based on device details (you can pick any e.g. Serial Number, Volume Serial. etc.) for devices you want to exempt from restriction

Modify your removable storage device rule and and select "Exclude" for the device definition you created.

    Hope this helps
