if you are still coping with this issue, could you attach here the %TEMP%\McAfeeLogs folder (compressed) so we have a chance to take a look?
BTW: Did you doublecheck the port (1087) and whether it is free to open connection to ? I assume you have already tried separately accessing the database - could you tell us if you've suceeded or not?
Is the SQL server clustered or in NLB ?
