    ePO 4.6.6 - Mac clients "disappear"


      Hi all,


      I've got some Mac clients that are "disappearing" from the console. When I say that they disappear, I mean I can't see them, I can't manage them, but yet they are somehow still getting some sort of policy applied to them.


      The clients in question are running:

      • Mac OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.3
      • McAfee Agent 4.8


      I can run a sudo ./cmdagent -P and they appear to check in no problem. I'm not seeing any errors in the agent log. I've looked at KB52949, however, these clients initially checked in on the LAN and not through the VPN, so I'm not sure if 52949 is applicable.


      What is strange, is that since they've disappeared from view, they are also getting some sort of default policy. I have a sub org in the tree that defines pre-boot authentication for systems with full disk encryption installed, and one of the systems was in the group, but since it has disappeared, pre-boot authentication has become disabled.


      Any ideas of how to get the missing systems back and then prevent them from disappearing again?
