Application blocking - HIPS

Hi,

How can all versions / updates of a certain program be blocked without checking for newer version and getting MD5 file?

Is it possible that all type of the same program be blocked even if it has a newer version so we don't need to download the new file and get the hash file and add to blacklist?

Thanks

There is no functionality like this in Host IPS.  Applications must be blocked/allowed using file names, paths, and MD5 hashes.
