Could you please update me the following
What is the operating system you are using ?
What is the type of Internet Connection ?
What is the version of McAfee ? Open McAfee - > Click on About -> Get me the versions
I am running Windows 8 and my ISP is Rogers Broadband
I have Mcafee Total Protection with the following components
Security Center 11.6
Virus Scan 15.6
Personal Firewall 3.6
Site Advisor 3.6
Anti Spam 12.6
Parental Controls 13.6
File Lock 2.6
I have run McAfee tech several times and uninstalled and reinstalled several times
Machine is an HP Desktop with an i7 proecssor and 12gb ram
This probelm is listed in several strings with no resolution posted.
Please follow the below steps and check the issue
Run the below McAfee removal tool
Restart the computer
Run the below tool to clean up junk files from the computer
Click HERE and login to McAfee account
Follow the on screen instructions and reinstall the McAfee
By performing the above steps you should get the MFE 12.1 version, if not let me know
I have done what you said and I do have 12.1 with a bit of a different interface.
The error message is gone and the software seems to working properly.

Now that you have uninstalled/reinstalled McAfee, are you still getting updates? Was the 12.1 version a choice when reinstalling or did the process do that versaion automatically?
I am getting updates and all appears to be working properly. I had reinstalled twice before but it did not get 12.1 but rather the same version which was 11.6. I was using the installation disc befoire this last reinstall.
I believe using the cleaner above resulted in installing 12.1 as it did not offer any options for different versions upon installation.
