McAfee v8.8.0 and VMWare VM's

We just encountered a really strange anomoly on our VMs and am hoping someone can enlighten us to what is happened. We recently upgraded the antivirus software from VSE v8.7 to v8.8 on a group of VMWare virtual servers; when we ran the latest MS Security updatess on the same VMs, all the servers lost connection to the primary NIC. Is there a problem with v8.8. on VM's that could have contributed to this weird problem?

    I used VSE 8.8 p2 on Server 2008 R2 standart, Server 2008 enterprise and Server 2008 R2 enterprise installed on  Vmware esxi 4.1 u3 and esxi 5.1.

    Have no problem.

May be you try install a server without VSE 8.8 and than apply MS updates.
