A little more in the way of details might help such as your operating system and service pack, if any, which version of Internet Explorer you have installed, whether or not you use it (McAfee uses it regardless of default browser), and why you posted this in Malware Discussions. Do you have a suspicion this might be infection-related? If so try Stinger and Malwarebytes Free, see the last link in my signature below.
Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools/Internet Options and open the Advanced tab. Click Reset, Apply/OK it and then close IE. Reopen it and go to Tools/Manage Add-ons and re0enable any you need. See if that helps.

I have similar problem. I bought a new laptop and tries to extend McAfee license on another computer. During McAfee installation I receive the following error: "Master Installer has stopped working".
