Windows corrupted file doesn't allow me to access my personal info

I'm having a really big issue.. I have a lot of personal and professional information encrypted on my laptop. Window's system file got broken and I can't repair it. Is there a safe way to recover my data? I'm not interested on recovering windows per se, just my files. Which is the fastest way to do it? I read about a possibility using the encrypted disk as a slave in another PC and copying the files using Wintech cd, but I don't have that CD. how can I get the wintech program? the IT support of my company is not very willing to help..

FYI: My laptop has Windows XP, Endpoint 5.2.8, the disk is a SATA disk.

      thanks in advance!!
