1. What OS and browser ? Mcafee uses IE so make sure you are on IE9 if win7/ or vista or ie8 for XP. Win8 use ie10.
2. Try resetting IE to defaults
3. The usual best way is uninstalling Mcafee and reinstalling via this method.

and reinstall from your account
If those no go and I thik they will be the solution call tech support and see what they suggest.
With due respects to Peacekeeper's reply, please see the advice which I have given to "billybaru" whose post is entitled "Update and MVT will not Complete" which appears in a post below this one. May I suggest performing my suggestion before Peacekeeper's in that re-installing the program is a long and labor intensive procedure which should be done as a last resort in this instance. My suggestion is simpler and quicker and if it doesn't work, you can use Peacekeeper's advice or proceed however you see fit. Truth is, I've recently had a similar problem with McAfee Internet Security and have done what I've outlined in my reply to billybaru. Good luck.

Actually running the mcpreinstall on its own does a bit of that ie temp files removal etc.
Yes and I should have suggested it install and run MVT from the support page. It might fix the issue.
