Hi folks,

VirusScan Enterprise 8.8 Patch 2 Hotfix 778101 has been released:

https://mysupport.mcafee.com/eservice/article.aspx?page=content&id=KB76727

From the release notes:

IMPORTANT:

  • This release was developed for use with VSE 8.8 Patch 2.
  • Rating: McAfee recommends this release for all environments. This release is considered a High Priority rating.

This release includes the following resolved issues:

  1. Issue: A Bugcheck (C2 or 19) could occur when file paths of a certain length were matched against Access Protection rules. (Reference: 757986)
Resolution: The Access Protection rule matching logic now handles path names of any length.
  2. Issue: User sessions not terminated after logging out on Windows Server 2008 SP1. (Reference: 778101)
Resolution: An updated VirusScan Enterprise driver no longer prevents Windows Server 2008 SP1 from deleting the session when a user logged out.
  3. Issue: When a file could not be deleted as part of a repair option, the file was incorrectly added to a pending file rename operations list, causing some errors during the repair. (Reference: 784349)
Resolution: The repair operation now checks for the existence of the file before adding it to the pending file rename operations list.
  4. Issue: Servers with multiple network adapters and Receive Side Scaling enabled experienced high memory usage or depletion. (Reference: 800778)
Resolution: An updated VirusScan Enterprise driver no longer causes a backlog of uncompleted User Datagram Protocol (UDP) requests which exhausted system memory.

Cheers,

Phil
