I'm wondering if it's possible to install McAfee VirusScan on a reference image and then deploy that to multiple machines. Right now we install the McAfee VirusScan Agent and then the EPO agent after the image is applied. Would it be supported to install the VirusScan agent but not the EPO agent or vice versa or both on the reference image? I know it's not usually best practice to install Antivirus on a reference image, but I wan't sure if it could be done with McAfee.

This is supported.
You can install VSE without any problems because it doesn`t have any unique identifier generated in ordere to create conflicts when deplying to multiple machines.
The McAfee agent has a registry key that needs to be deleted (delete the key as a whole, not just its value!) if you want to include it in the gold image. Deleting the mac address is optional because it will automatically update it at first ASCI.
The key is found at
In your post you say "The McAfee agent has a registry key" - would this be for the EPO Agent or VirusScan Agent? Are you saying it's only supported to install the VirusScan or both?

It's supported to install both. Just remove the applicable agent keys prior to creating image.
Thanks Guys! What about the computer name, IP, LoggedOnUser, SubnetAddress, SubnetMask keys? These are going to be unique to the machine that was used to create the image should these be deleted as well or will they just update witht he new computes info?
It wouldn't hurt but it isn't necessary as all of those items will be repopulated the first time an ASCI kicks off and sends the Full Props to ePO.
