You mean the SecurityCenter that should look something like the above is not green?
Do you have any other security software installed?
Can you post more information - what is your operating system and service pack please?
Try running the Virtual Technician to see if it can autofix the issue: http://mvt.mcafee.com/
Also check to see if you may have some kind of infection by downloading and running Stinger and Malwarebytes Free, both of which are linked in the last clickable link in my signature below.
Do NOT accept the trial version of MalwareBytes or else you'll end up with the paid version, which may react badly with McAfee Real-Time Protection.
This issue may be related to the windows firewall, please update the operating system with Service pack (as it was asked by peter) so that I can suggest some steps to check which is causing the problem. Thanks,
i have to agree that this version of Mcafee is not a good program I can't even get my "firewall" to work. I think i will have to uninstall it, and reinstall it. I can't even the program to run prperly so i can press on some kind of button to try and work it. When i try to start i now i get a big white rectangle and that's it.
Is there anyway of getting reimbursed on this latest purchase, because once i uninstall it do i lose the whole application of it?

As I said earlier, in case if there is any problem with the windows firewall even you uninstall and reinstall the McAfee you end up with the same problem. So kindly update me the operating system details with service pack so that i can check the cause of the issue.
Is it a Windows Vista or Windows 7 PC
Try the below and get the screen shot of the windows firewall screen
Click on Start > type firewall.cpl and check for the name at the top of the pane and click on it. Once the Windows Firewall windows opens take a screen shot and attach it in your next post
Also is it Windows 7 SP1?
