    MVT Problem after Security Center update

      On 10/27/2012 McAfee upgraded my version of Security Center to 11.6.435. Everything appeared fine and all McAfee services are running with no problem. However, I normally run MVT once a day as an extra check, and immediately after the install MVT began reporting that it could not check my computer since it could not find any McAfee products on my computer. I have seen conditions in the past when an update does not carry through to MVT for a while, but it is still failing today (10/30/2012) so I thought I would give a heads up.

       

      My system is A Dell 9100 running Windows XP with all service packs applied.

       

      My guess is that there have been changes to the registry entries being checked for the products (maybe related to the new Win 8?) and Win XP got left out in the cold again.
