    VSE 8.7i Multiple Drive Exclusions

    bakerrl

I want to exclude the same folder and subfolders with different drive letters as in the example below.

      C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\

      D:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\

      E:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\

      F:\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\

Would   **\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\    work along with the "Also Exclude Subfolders" box checked?

      or do I need    **\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\**

      Any help would be appreciated.

      Thanks BakerRL

( https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB50998&pmv=print ) is a good document for you to review, the rules for exclusions.

Based on this document, your first solution is the correct one.

          **\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\

          would work, and so would

          **\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\

          or

          **\MSSQL\Data\

Note, that the trailing \ is required for this to reference a directory. Using ** at the end, would, well, I am not sure how that would be interpreted, but I believe it would interpret this as a File exclusion.

          Good luck,

            Thanks Ron,

            My first choice worked fine.
