Start by telling us what version of the product you are using, what your OS is etc, and what you did to get into this position.
If you are an end user, you should contact your corporate IT helpdesk for help though as they can assist you best.
Os Windows 2007
I have installed the Encryption copied from other system and ran in my system , when i restarted the system i stuck in this screen saying the ''Installed version is In correct''
Eroor cod : 0xe0050004.
I reached my IT help desk , but they have only solution is to reimage the system. they not even gave try to decrypt the system.
I dont want to reimage the system without any step taken to retrive my Data.
I belive Reimage the Laptop is not the solution with out any effort taken to fix this issue.
I really appreciate if you help me in this.
1. How did you copy the program from one machine to another?
2. Windows 2007? I'm not sure what that is - is that a ServerOS?
Sorry Its Windows 7
The Help desk took the control of my system and copied a folder and from there he ran the Encryption file.
Seems very odd but not impossible.
unfortuately if the drive is encrypted, there is no solution which you can execute without the assistance of your helpdesk. It's entirely possible to recover all your data, but ONLY if your helpdesk want you to.
If the drive is not encrypted, you can just slave it in another machine and copy the data off.
Will check with them , so you have any other process which i can use to retrive with the help of Help desk if any?
That will help all of us in the future too.
How to do this? Steps to follow? something like this.
Your helpdesk has diagnostic tools etc to repair or recover data - it's all in the standard product documentation. It's not something you can do without their help, as they have the encryption keys for your machine.
''I am sorry but I cannot explain why we don’t have a copy of the encryption key for your PC. We cannot do recovery without the key''.
This is the reply i got form Global Helpdesk, remote support
But i tried with other local Help desk guy, he said he will try...but not sure how lucky i'm.
If you can, please help me the process so that i will ask my local IT helpdesk guy to follow the same.
are you SURE your machine is encrypted? Did you try slaving the drive?
You can find the recovery instructions in the administrators guide - https://kc.mcafee.com/resources/sites/MCAFEE/content/live/PRODUCT_DOCUMENTATION/ 23000/PD23668/en_US/EEPC5_2_12_Administration_Guide.pdf
