It's your choice to keep Java or not, just make sure you only have one version installed and it's the latest version. Normally it will update automatically.
However, that item should now be in your quarantined items folder.
Click Navigation (top right)
Scroll down and click Quarantined and Trusted Items.
It should show in one of those sections when you can then delete it.
i had one version installed and the latest version.
The item is in the quarantined folder.
So i can delete the item now?
And is everything gone now and it is safe again?
I also did a scan with mbam and this comes out clean.
Yes delete it. Exploits aren't always dangerous but the software removes them just in case. I would say you're fine now. ;-)
okay thanks for the info
You can delete the quarantined item. As for "is everything gone now", well, maybe. That exploit is a favourite of people using the BlackHole Exploit Kit, so there's always the risk that any infection comes with other malware attached.
See what I wrote here.
If in doubt run a scan with another tool, such as Microsoft's Safety Scanner.
i did a full scan with microsoft safety scanner and this comes clean.
Probably okay then, but watch for any signs of strange behaviour on your system.
(And I realise that that statement is asking for trouble after the events of the past week).
