Sounds maybe like you need to take a look at 'automatic responses' in the ePO console. (Menu - Automation - Automatic Responses)
This allows the generation of email (or snmp trap, ticket or a few others...) on a recieved parameter - say the generation of an event signifying repository update or replication completed.
Such emails are subject to variable definitions as you say that include relevant parameters. It becomes more self-explanatory when you see it
Thanks, I think that's possibly the right direction.
I now need the variables for the "current DATversion"; "current EngineVersion" and then for "current repositories (repositories "in sync")" and "number of repositories"...
The provided variables are a little limited... Are they context-sensitive, or global? Is there a documentation about those variables and how to use them for ePO?
I had a quick look and did not find a list, even in the on-line help.
The best thing may be to send a test email with all available variables included so you can see the outcome then edit down as needed.
There are only a few variables for the event (i.e. "Master Repository Update succeeded") - and the ones I am searching for aren't available.
Also the server task itself seems to not allow a notification with the result as a plain mailtext.
Looks like the easiest way is to script it or do a sql-query with a send-mail...
Maybe anyone knows a little script to do it that way?
Other ideas are much appreciated!
