thank you for the examples. I had a look and it seems that the major category is "Shows", but as an uploader you can add additional "sub categories" which will show up when you browse there. We would basically detect "Shows" correctly, but there are several additional categoy tags returned which indicate some more detatils about regions and origin media of the video, which we incorrectly use as the category.
I will try to modify the rule set. I will see if I can also get access to the "sub categories", but it may be possible that we are restricted to the main category, which is "Shows" in this case.
I will let you know once I made progress.
Thank you for reporting the examples, that is very helpful.
I have also an example.
This should be blocked because i block the YouTube Category Games. But everyone can see this example video.
On the screenshot you can see the Categories of the posted video
If you need more examplesfrom the same categories?
Follow this playlist on youtube http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=ELDxB4vbZDPbI&feature=plcp
If it does not block the category, it may be because of 2 things:
The category name is not the same as the display name on the page. you may have entered "Gaming" in the rule but the API uses the word "Games".
Category in rules Display name on page
Pets & Animals
Autos & Vehicles
Film & Animation
Howto & Style
News & Politics
Nonprofits & Activism
People & Blogs
Science & Technology
Travel & Events
2) There appears to be a problem with the categorization from youtube's API.
I can't tell if it's because of the localization, but on mine the API claims it's in the "Shows" category;
I also notice a bug in External List definition on mine.
By default, the XPath expression reads this:
//*[local-name() = 'category']/text()
But there are multiple category definitions sequentially and the last one is the one that takes for MWG.
Change the XPath to:
//*[local-name() = 'category' and @label]/text()
This should help MWG locate the right XML node.
But there still is a problem with the data that youTube is returning. It's under the category 'Shows'
However, why would you ever want to block anything about angry birds? It's awesome!
I just got this working and it is working great. However, Youtube needs to add a category for sexual content because, can still search and find sexual content.
One more thing, the detected category does not work in my case (ISA Server Proxy Chaining > MWG). Is there something that I missed?
