It's possible it forced a restart for a critical update but unusual and I haven't experienced that myself. Well not recently at least.
I'm not too sure what to suggest if everything is working OK then I would disregard it but if you want to follow through open a case with Technical Support.
It's a free phone call or you can use the online chat, also free. Linked under Useful Links at the top of this page.
You could perhaps run the Virtual Technician to check if everything is OK.
I have the same problem. Three times in as many weeks, the "restart or restart later" prompt has appeared and I selected restart later. At some point after that on resuming from the screensaver, I find the computer has restarted and abandoned any program I had running. Outlook subsequently advises that the pst file was not closed properly etc etc so it appears to be quite a sudden shutdown. Completely unacceptable behaviour and perhaps not as unusual as Ex_Brit suggests.
Hmm I have this on our moderator agenda for tomorrow. I will add the reinstall comment though what it does would not in my opinion fix things.
My wife and son in law have seen this happen I will report back when I find out anything. You get a SR job number for that call?
I just said that I hadn't experienced it myself recently but have since been told that it's quite possible that a critical update requiring a reboot could force the issue if not done after a certain period. We will verify that on our conference call.
I tend to reboot pretty quickly after being requested to do so , therefore that could be why I haven't seen it. I can appreciate situations would occur where an immediate reboot wasn't possible. The software would force a reboot if it meant it had to do that to continue protecting you I would imagine.
However, we will verify that.

It appears like this issue needs some more diagnostics, I have sent you an e-mail requesting for more details on the same. Kindly have it replied so that we can help you better on this issue.
Totally unacceptable that this has not been resolved yet.
The pop-up HAS to get a selection that says: I will decide myself. The comment that is might be a "critical" update might sound good, but shoild be referenced in the popup
I just screwed up an SQL data base I was working on remotely!!!
patch slated for later on this month early next. You can set updates to warn you something is available and manually run it on boot and shutdown till the fix comes it. I do not like to suggest this but seems best way to get past this.
