    application/xhtml+xml, application/xml

We have McAfee Webgateway in Version 7.0.2.4.0 in action.

In System Lists under Policy i cant find the media types as indicated above. Is that the fact, why the website will not work with the proxy?

      for detail see logbook extracts:

      >>>

      GET http://************/ HTTP/1.1

      Host: ****************

      User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0.1

      Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8

      Accept-Language: en,en-us;q=0.5

      Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate

      DNT: 1

      Proxy-Connection: keep-alive

      <<<

          Hello,

the media types in the Accept header is something that your browser send in the request to the server. It tells the webserver that the browser will only accept certain kind of files. This is not directly related to the media type system list that MWG uses. This list is usually used for the actual response coming from the server when MWG will try to detect the actual media type of the file.

Normally MWG does nothing with the Accept header that the browser send, it's very unlikely that this is the reason why a webpage is not working. This would only be the case if you wrote a rule yourself that performs block actions especially for this header.

The reason why something is not working is more likely based on the response from the webserver, which is processed by MWG.

Without further information it's not possible to detect the issue or say what's causing it, but I'm very sure that it's not the media type list.

          Regards,

          Dirk

Would it help if I upload logbooks?

              Hello,

it would be helpful if you can let us know some more details about the issue. Is it reproducible or does it happen sporadically? Is it happening for one specific web site or always?

If is it only for one site and reproducible maybe you can share the URL so that we can try it.

Please add an error description. What exactly does not work? What is the expected result and what actually happens?

Additionally please attach the request and response from your logs, maybe if helps to understand what is happening.

              Best,

              Andre
