From the admin guide:
Removing Endpoint Encryption 5.x from a machine
NOTE: If the machine is unable to synchronize, perhaps because of a network or Windows
issue, you can still remove Endpoint Encryption by performing an emergency SafeTech
removal followed by the Sbsetup -Uninstall command from the Endpoint Encryption
program files directory.
actually i remove eepc by safetech and sbsetup -uninstall .now facing problem mcafee authentication coming and asking user name and password
Any idea on how to remove this authentication.
Do you mean in the pre-boot, or in Windows?
yes sir . I mean mcafee pre-boot screen .i want to remove this.but tried so many way .safetech, command sbsetup -uninstall ,remove from server also
If you still have the boot screen, then you can't have removed eepc from safetech - can you remember exactly what you did?
Also, remember that if you remove from safetech, then reboot the machine, if it can communicate with eem, it will re-enable itself again.
The best approach is the standard one - find the object in eem and set its properties to be "remove and reboot", then sync the machine.
Wonder how you can run sbsetup -uninstall without decrypting disk and removing the pre-boot authentication..
normally it's will popups that you need to decrypt the disk..
Anyway since you've remove by some reason it - get sdb file then remove it using wintech
