Immediate BSOD with VSE 8.8 P2 beta on EMC CAVA server running on Win8 or Win2012

    wdooley

When we run CAVA with VirusScan Patch 2 on Windows 8 or Windows 2012 – the machine blue screens immediately. This Windows 8 issue does not happen when VirusScan is removed and replaced with another AV engine with CAVA.  When we turn off SMB2 on the Windows 8 machine, VirusScan runs fine with CAVA !  EMC can provide a dump if we want to perform analysis.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

This is a community forum, most people on here aren't McAfee employees just volunteers and users.

All the products your using are beta releases so this kind of issue is to be expected. Luckily you'll only be testing it in the lab and not in a live production environment.

You need to raise a service ticket directly with McAfee customer support.

Failing that, it would appear that you have some kind of maintenance with EMC, seeing as they are prepared to do a dump for analysis. Really EMC need to be speaking directly with McAfee (and possibly Microsoft) as this is a low level  system software interoperability issue.
