    How can you transfer files from a computer that has McAfee to a external hard drive?

      Hi-

      so I am interning at a law firm in DC and I am collaborating with their IT person, and yesterday we came across a laptop that had its hard drive full. We took a close look and discovered that the person, instead of backing up their files to an external hard driver, had created a folder, made duplicates of all their files, and had put them all in that one folder. One of the founders of the firm wants us to transfer the files from the laptop to an external storage device of some sort so that the rest of the office can use/view them considering the owner of the laptop used to work for the firm. Any ideas on how to do this? Thanks

       

      I don't know if this will help, but here are some specifications of the laptop:

      1. It is a dell Inspiron 640 m

      2. It is running windows xp
