Upgrading from HIPS 7 to HIPS 8

    jpeg9999

We've had some issues with HIPS 8 installation on several machines involving the NDIS driver being removed or in some way damaged.  Are there any known issues with upgrading from HIPS 7 to HIPS 8?

HIPS 8 was not functioning correctly on many of the machines "no events in the activity log" and in some cases gave an error stating that "the driver could not be loaded and therefore HIPS was unable to protect the host."

Upon removing HIPS 8 and reinstalling HIPS 7, several machines have sporatic high CPU (100%) usage and drive activity.  Any help is appreciated.

Also, is there any automated removal tool for uninstalling HIPS 7 and HIPS 8 completely?  The manual directions (7) have worked for us in the past, but performing them on 80 or so machines would be very time consuming.

            • Please make sure you are upgrading from HIPS 7.0 to HIPS 8.0 using the HIPS 8.0 Patch 1 full installer (HIP80LMLRP1.Zip).  There are known issues with the HIPS 8.0 RTW installer.
            • There is no removal tool for the Host IPS product.  Please use the MSIEXEC command line uninstall for HIPS 8.0 (if other uninstall methods are not working).
