Yes McAfee are aware of it and it is at least included in Stinger & I assume VirusScan and there is also Rootkitremover for certain rootkit infections, see this document: https://community.mcafee.com/docs/DOC-2168
Certain kinds of infections can't be included in regular antivirus software (no matter what brand) because in order to detect them the engine would have to be set to a detection level so high that regular computer processes would be impeded or even corrupted.
