Postgres.exe terminates on servers
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard
6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
Exchange 2010 Sp2
We are having a strange issue on MSME 7.6 with hotfix HF725689 installed where the postgres.exe process hangs and terminates randomly. This is on both hub and mailbox servers.
We tried the following suggestions
- Move the detected items database location out of McHOME to an absolute path where SYSTEM has full control as per KB73168 https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB73168
This didnt help us
We have following from Event logs, this from WebMer
Source Category Event
PostgreSQL none 0
Nothing in Event Viewer that relates to this
thanks in advance for some ideas
Is there a specific timeline on this - like during the night or specific time - e.g. during a backup, VirusScan OnDemand Scan etc??
Is VirusScan Enterprise (or another desktop AV solution) OnAccess Scanner running - is there anything in its logs like timeouts scanning a file??
Is there another version of postgres on the system??
Would anything occasionally block port 5432??
First like to point out its a fresh installation, no update
Answers to your questions
No this is random. No ODS or backups running.
Nothing in the log files from VSE 8.8
postgres.exe X 7 all related to MSME
Checked port 5432 no issues
All exclusions in place as well in VSE
By restarting service for MSME then postgres kicks in and stays alive hmmm until terminates
In your first post you mention
"We have following from Event logs, this from WebMer"
Does this suggest you already have a case open in support and sent in the MER??
No we still havent got any case with support
I did run the WebMer to see if i could find anything related
Would recommend doing that so the MER details can be examined!
thanks will be done
access denied on incoming
If you are opening an SR you can add the MER directly to it.
