Have you tried disabling ScriptScan?
ScriptScan is enabled, but "Microsoft.Crm.Application.Hoster.exe" process is excluded.
The files *.htc and *.htm are also excluded.
further suggestions ??

EDIT: also general CRM tuning and perf. stuff here :-
I too have this issue and it cropped back up.
ScriptScan was disabled completely as per the article and CRM 4.0 Rollup 3 is applied. This made it slightly better however it is slower again.
As a test I got a machine running ForeFront and this has no issues, a machine also with the McShield service stopped is fine. As soon as the service starts CRM becomes very sluggish.
Did you try (for test purposes) excluding the temp folders from scanning ?
changing from VSE8 to 8.5i and 8.7i and excluding Files / temp-IE Folder / Processexclusion and to forth, does not realy increase the performance.
Only disabling ScripScan will impact this issue.:mad:
Short Term: McAfee is developing 8.7 patch 1, scheduled for late April-May timeframe, which will contain the ability for customers to create some type of configuration file containing a list of url’s which McAfee should ignore in its scanning.
Long Term: McAfee is working with the Microsoft IE dev team on a better long-term solution for McAfee 9.0, scheduled sometime in future.
looking forward for VSE8.7i Pach 1, and other alternatives. grin
So, where do we watch for the release of this patch, and how to change the config file to exclude Microsoft Dynamics CRM? Anyone?
using Patch1 for VSE8.7i and excluding the CRM URL will work fine.
The greatest impact of performance will be, using IE8.........
in fact, the best configuration will be the summary of VSE8.7i SP1 and IE8 with Outlook so far..
looking forward to next generation to come
