Update Now is for the Engine/DAT side of VirusScan. It has nothing to do with the Agent. Same for the Superdat.
Your best option is to redeploy the agent to your EPO server from within EPO itself.
...I thought that "update now" would also deploy any outstanding agent upgrades if newer version was available in the repository....
Once again - can someone in the "know" post a clarification ?
If only it was that handy :)
Update Now doesnt do anything Agent wise. Its part of the VirusScan side of things.
Not convinced (yet) LOL - going off to test new patched MA4 ;)
I want to update the DAT/ENG using "update now" becasue as I said the Engine and DAT versions are too old (Jul 2004) and I'm trying to update them with no good results.
Even if the DAT/Eng version are too old, using "update now" I got from NAIhttp a message that no update is needed?
How is it possible? How can I update the viruscan (and maybe the agent) my ePO server?
Do I need to update the Agent as well?
If its not updated since 2004, you might want to try manually downloading and running a Superdat on the machine today and try to Update Now tomorrow. If its an old machine you might want to up it's patch level too happy
McAfee Common Framework 3.5.0.* stopped updating since the 2nd of februari.
You have a lot of updating to do...
EPO 3.5 is end of life, and has been for some time.
Refer to http://www.mcafee.com/us/enterprise/support/customer_service/end_life.html
EPO Agent 3.5.5 is also End of Life see the link above.
I presume with dats etc that far out of date that the Engine is also out of date.
