I had McAfee Antivirus plus 2011 installed on my laptop having windows xp. After formatting the C drive and reinstalling McAfee it says - activate your subscription. But nothing happens when I click over the "Activate" logo. Please help soon , subscription expires on 5.3.2012.
Is this XP SP3 and fully up to date and have you installed IE8 and do you have an Internet connection that works? Regardless of your default browser if using another one open Internet Explorer and go to Tools/Internet Options/Advanced and click Reset, Apply and OK any prompts. Close and reopen the browser, go to Tools/Manage Add-Ons and re-enable any you need and then try your reactivation.

If you have already registered the McAfee Product no need to register it again, please follow the below steps and install McAfee from online that should Work :
Remove McAfee using the below removal Link
Restart the Computer once the McAfee product is removed
Click the below Link
Logon to the McAfee Account
Click the Download button
Accept the License Agreement
Click the Download again and Run the Application
Follow the onscreen instructions and install the McAfee
Once the McAfee is installed no need for Activation and you will be all set.
Kindly post on this Thread for any Clarifications.
Now my subscription is activated, but real time scanning is turned off and does not turn on on clicking "Turn on ".
My account says - Licenses: 1(2 in use; overlimit). To comply with the license either - buy 1 additional license or remove your mcafee product from 1 computer or deactivate your software from 1 computer.
Please advice what to do as I can't remove or deactivate software from the only laptop I am using.( I can't understand why Mcafee reads as 2 license in use, whereas I am using the same laptop - only thing that I have formatted it doesn't mean that I am using 2 licenses)
