Are you using Incredimail? If so then this is not a trojan. What software is telling you that it is a trojan? My Start Dashboard by Incredibar is a free download with Incredimail and should be removable through your Control Panel > Programs.

Click start menu.
Click all programs.
Find the program you need. Right click. It should reveal an uninstall option.
If this fails go through control panel instead. (After clicking Start menu)
Click add remove programs.
Find your program once it has populated the list.
Thanks, that was part of it. The second step was to remove MyStart from the browser's search service list.
No, I wasn't using IncrediMail, and I have no clue how this got started, but thanks for trying.
It's a legitimate toolbar http://toolbar.mystart.com/about.php but no doubt you inadvertently downloaded it with something else then, Incredimail was the first one that came to mind. You always have to check those popup windows that appear at various stages when installing software, as more often than not there is something extra you may not want.
Glad it's OK now.
Thanks Peter, and keep up the good work.
You are very welcome ;-)
This doesn't work for me...
I can't see Incredibar or mystart anywhere in control panel and I have never used Incredimail.
How do I get rid of this thing?
Or MyStart, or Toolbar-MyStart? It should be in your Installed Programs list.
If not then try running Stinger and MalwareBytes free, both linked in the last clickable link in my signature below.
If they fail then run Hijackthis and post its log on one of the forums I mention lower down there for analysis and suggestion from experts.
