The problem and fix have been explained in other threads such as the links below. The older Common Framework is no longer supported and will not autoupdate.. You can either update the McAfee Agent/Common Framework to something later than 3.6.0 or use the Superdat downloads to manually update the program.
Hope this helps.
Or use my policy template that changes a registry setting that make things work as a workaround.
Where can I find this policy template of which you speak? I'd like to take a look please.
One quick fix is to disable 'Get other available updates...' from the AutoUpdate properties. You will get a few weird errors, but it will update the main DAT files.
Somebody also posted that the DAT files used by 8.0 will no longer be available after December 31.
AutoUpdate_Properties="VirusScan AutoUpdate Properties"
GOAU="Get other available options (servicepacks, upgrades, etc.)"
GOAU_Explain="This setting enables or disable updating to new upgrades, switching off is also a workaround for KB60060 https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB60060&actp=LIST_RECENT
I too have also had a nightmare with VSE8.0 over the last few days and thanks to the script that was provided I can now update the main DAT files etc.
The problem I'm having now though is that I'm unable to create a mirror location from any PC / Server using either VSE 8.0 or 8.7.
The only files that populate the Mirror Directory are 'new_replica.log' and a folder named 'Current'.
Any advice please would be greatly appreciated as since Wednesday I have been working on Mcafee to ensure updates are taking place and I need to get this fixed once and for all.
Thanks for everyones help so far !
Henno and andyross,
Thank you both for your answers. You've been a great help.
